Project Fame 8: Amos Anderson makes historic comeback!

History was made in the ongoing weekly MTN Project Fame West Africa 8.0 as Emmanuel Amos Anderson became the firstcontestant in the history of the competitionto be eliminated and then readmitted into the competition. Anderson, who is currently studying International Relations at IRGIB Africa University, Cotonou was the centre of attention as the judges were forced to cave into pressure from the audience by granting him reprieve to continue in the competition following his initial elimination.

Like a prophet, Show anchor, Joseph Benjamin, set the tone for what could turned out to be the most nerve racking episode of this year’s edition of Project Fame with his ominous speech: “The show this week is going to be with lots of surprises and am sure you all will be delighted to see what the surprise is all about”.

Interestingly Anderson was not the only contestant on probation. The previous week saw all the Contestants placed on the dreaded probation. DeindeOkubajo, ChikeOsebukaEzekpeazu, OluchiOdii,Funmilayo ComfortArewa, Adanoritsewo Gold Tosanwumi and Pearl Awa-Agwuall escaped elimination, while KumiAmmaKorantema, Jeffrey UfedoAkor, Stephen SackiteyOkleteyBiqo, JoyChukwuma and Emmanuel Amos Anderson had to singtheir way to redemption.

Kumi was saved by the panel of Judges made up of Bibi Brew, Ade Bantu and Tee.y Mixwhile theFaculty members comprising Uncle Ben, Joke Silva and Dupe Igesaved Jeff. Joy on the otherhand had her fellow contestants to thank for saving her from elimination leavingBiko and Anderson up for elimination.

As the show continues, followers will probably be asking if Anderson’s luck will still hold out,or will the young man’s dreams of fame and future be shattered?

Catch exciting episodes of MTN Project Fame from Monday to Friday between 6:00 and 9:00 pm on TVC, Sound City, ONTV, and Ultima owned TV station GET TV on Startimes.

This 6 year old is obssessed with tearing things and eating them

Little Harry Burlton is quite literally eating his mother out of house and home - by munching his way through carpets, wallpaper and even his bed. Zoe Burlton, 24, has been forced to buy new flooring for her living room because Harry, six, has an obsession with tearing things into little pieces and eating them.

The autistic youngster rips wallpaper down, peels paint from the walls and pulls mattresses apart.
Now his mum is fundraising to build him a 'safespace' with soft surfaces so tough he cannot tear them up.

Zoe, of Paulton, Somerset, said: 'We moved into this house about a year and a half ago and as soon as the carpets were down he started pulling them apart.

'We had to put nails in the carpets to stop him.
'But he has still managed to rip it apart. He finds little threads on it that he pulls up and then he eats chunks. He properly eats and swallows them down.
'We have to get a new one now. I can't even just laminate the floor because he has picked bits off of my mum's laminate and made holes wherever the lines join up.

'We used to have wallpaper but he peeled it. After we took all of that off the wall he started going for the paint on the skirting boards.
'He picked little bits off and ate them. There are quite large patches of paint missing.
'He doesn't eat food much but he eats everything else.'

Harry has a developmental age of one, cannot communicate at all and has no understanding of what he does.
He has no interest in children's toys but fiddles with wires, plugs and other hazardous items.
Harry was born 'normal' but Zoe noticed something was wrong when he reached ten months and could not sit up.
He was diagnosed with autism six months ago and has recently learned to walk, but uses a wheelchair for long distances and cannot speak at all.

As well as having a fascination with carpets, wallpaper and paint, Harry also tears into mattresses, duvets and anything else he can get his hands on.
'He managed to rip up a mattress once,' said Zoe. 'I was in bed and when I checked on him he was still asleep.
'He must have woken up at some point because when I went to check him later there were loads of bits of mattress everywhere.

'He had bits all over his face so I could tell he had eaten some. He got ill after that for a couple of days.
'He also ripped up a brand new quilt yesterday. I went up to check on him and he had all the fluff out of it and it looked like it had been snowing.

'If he has something to rip up he will. He just likes to turn stuff into tiny bits so he can run it through his fingers.

'Even just taking him out in the garden is difficult. I have to watch anything he picks up because he eats the grass, mud and little stones.
'He can eat things just fine but he can't tell me when he is unwell, he just cries and I have to take him to the doctor because I don't know what's wrong. It worries me.'
Zoe is redecorating at the moment in the hope of making the house safer and aims to provide her son with a 'safespace' - a padded room within a room.
The safespace will be made of soft, blue padded walls that Harry will not be able to tear or hurt himself on if he throws his body at them when he is upset.
Zoe is a full-time carer for Harry and her daughter Eva, two, who is also being investigated for autism. She has raised £900 towards her £8,000 target so far.
'All of it means that Harry will be safe at night. No matter how long it takes to raise this money, this safespace is for the rest of his life,' she said.
'He just needs to be safe. I never know what he is going to eat or do.
'When he is upset he can be a danger to himself because he rocks and cries and throws himself to the floor, so this would stop him from being able to hurt himself.
'He also wakes up in the night and it would be so reassuring to know that when he does wake up he is completely safe.
'It will be such a safer and comfier place for him to sleep and it will also mean more sleep for me.'

Chris Brown sued by fan shot during club appearance

Chris Brown is being sued by a man who was shot at a party that the singer hosted in January. Paul Briley was one of five people struck at the Fiesta Nightclub in San Jose, Calif. during the “Chris Brown Capricorn Bash,” and filed suit against Breezy, and the venue, for “negligence and carelessness.”

Briley, 22, argues that the club should have had proper security measures in place, such as metal detectors, and searching “bags and/or guns,” due to similar incidents at events hosted by Brown.
“This shooting should never have happened,” Briley’s attorney, Richard Alexander, said in a statement. “Brown’s managers and the concert promoters know that violence follows in Brown's wake.”
None of the shooting victims sustained life-threatening injuries, however, Briley suffered “permanent injury” to his foot, the suit claims. He's suing for loss of income, and medical expenses. The suit also requests damages for “past, present, and future physical, mental and emotional pain and suffering, including fright, shock, terror, and post-traumatic stress of being shot.”

PDP in low-key 17th anniversary celebration

• Says top members left for fear of competition
THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday marked its 17th anniversary without a sign of
celebration in its Wadata Plaza national secretariat, Abuja.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, who listed what he termed the achievements of
the party within its 17 years of existence, however disclosed that many leading PDP members
defected because of the fear of competition.
“Some of those who defected could not just cope with the level of competition in the party; and
some members felt that they were not well protected when they sought assistance, others left
because we lost election, others for selfish reason while some others left when they felt they
were honestly not accommodated in the party.”
Metuh was the only member of the 16-man National Working Committee (NWC) on a day the
party announced that it was marking its 17 ‎years of existence.

On the causes of its loss in the last general election, Metuh said that the statement credited to
the acting chairman of PDP Board of Trustees, Haliru Bello, to the effect that disrespect for party
rules caused its loss was not the position of the party.
He, however, refused to provide the party’s position on the reason for the dismal performance
of PDP in the March 28, 2015 presidential election.
Listing the achievements of the party, Metuh said: “We recall with pride that the founding
fathers of the PDP are heroes who rose to the challenge, stood up for millions of other citizens,
confronted the military and restored genuine democracy, national unity and stability,
entrenched the rule of law and enlarged the political space we all enjoy today.
“Over the years, the PDP has shown strength as the only Nigerian political party that is
completely owned and controlled by the Nigerian people; with structures in all the nooks and
crannies of the country; and where no individual or group of individuals can claim ownership
or allowed to appropriate the interest of the generality of the members.”
