Man gets arm stuck in toilet trying to retrieve his iPhone (photos)

A man in China had to be rescued after getting his arm stuck in a toilet brimming with poo while trying to retrieve his treasured iPhone. He had just done number two and was pulling up his trousers when the phone slipped out and into the toilet. He promptly plunged his hand down the loo in a desperate but ultimately futile attempt to retrieve his phone, he got stuck and called for help.

The unnamed man said: "My arm was stuck there and waste kept spewing out towards my face. It made me really sick. I just bought the phone so it really hurt to lose it so soon. But had I known the consequences, I would have never plunged my hand inside to try and get it."

Meet the first chicken to tweet (photos)

A Chicken restaurant has taken public relations to new heights by putting a chicken in charge of its tweeter account. In the publicity stunt, the chicken's keyboard was covered in chicken feed to ensure it keeps pecking away. The company says it will keep it up until the chicken types an intelligible five letter word and takes a place in Guinness World Book Of Records as the first chicken to do so.

So far it has only managed one word, 'bum'. However not everyone sees the funny side with animal rights activist saying the restaurant uses the chicken to unwittingly promote the slaughter of fellow chicken, according to TIME magazine: "Betty is unwittingly working to promote a firm that exists only to execute and barbecue her brethren for human consumption."

Pastor preaches from inside Coffin in South Africa

A pastor in South Africa has abandoned the pulpit for a coffin, literally. According to church member and former drug dealer, 28 year old Aphiwe Nqevu 'brought the coffin to illustrate to people who fail to embrace Jesus as the son of God that they will go to hell and face eternal death.

They said they use coffin to 'urge people to embrace God because once death occurs, it is too late to decide'. People in the area protested, saying it was scaring children and it was disrespectful.

3 police officers blame rats for missing 540 rolls of bhang stored at a police station as exhibits

A Kwale Court, Kenya, was on Monday, October 12, thrown into shock when police officers claimed rats had eaten 540 rolls of bhang (a preparation of cannabis, traditionally used in food and drinks) stored at a police station as exhibit.

The three officers were testifying as prosecution witnesses in a case in which four women are charged with trafficking 1,710 rolls of bhang from Migori to Ukunda, Kwale.

The three included Inspector Ken Olonde, who was the investigating officer, AP Inspector Patrick Baya, and Sergeant Hamisi Kombo, who arrested the suspects. While cross examining the witnesses, a lawyer Abdull Aminga who is representing one of the accused, put the officers to task to explain why the quantity of the drug had reduced to 1,170.

The officers who were testifying before Resident Magistrate Paul Mutai told the court that the rodents that have invaded Kwale police station where the exhibits are kept and fed on the bhang. But what was baffling is the fact that the rats had not punched holes in the four suitcases containing the exhibits, raising questions as to how they could have consumed the bhang.

Aminga took issue with the investigating officer saying he had done a shoddy job considering that part of the exhibits had gone missing. The lawyer also disputed the witnesses’ testimony that the bhang consignment had a street value of Sh1million whereas the figure quoted in the charge sheet is 82 kgs of the drug worth Sh500, 000. The accused, Pauline Moraa, Elizabeth Atieno, Nancy Auma, and Mercy Achieng were arrested on July 24, last year at Banga Village in Mbunguni Location, Matuga Sub-county. Hearing of the case will resume on December 16.

Mother charged for injecting 14-year-old daughter with heroin

34-year-old Lynn Riffey has been charged for repeatedly injecting her 14-year-old daughter and another teen with heroin, prosecutors said Monday, October 6. The Chester County district attorney's office alleged that the Philadelphia woman supplied the 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy with heroin and injected them multiple times last month. She also tied a string around their arms to hide their veins.

Riffey was charged with corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and drug delivery.

She was jailed in lieu of $50,000 pending a preliminary hearing Friday. Prosecutors also alleged that Riffey's boyfriend supplied heroin for the teens to snort. He has been charged separately with drug dealing and other offenses.

District Attorney Thomas Hogan said the family lived in a trailer in which numerous people were using heroin. He said the mother was supposed to be caring for and protecting her daughter and instead exposed her to the drug and enabled her use of it.

"It's hard to make that leap as a parent, to think how you end up in that position," Hogan said.

I came to Lagos to steal cars and become rich - Armed robbery suspect confesses

A convicted car snatcher, Somadina Enyiobi, 26, confessed that he left his village in Oraifite in Anambra State to Lagos state with a mission to steal and become a successful rich man.

According to a report by PM News, Somadina made the confession during his trial at the Isolo Magistrates’ court where he was convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment without an option of fine for conspiracy and stealing.

He was arrested after a failed attempt to steal an SUV from Green Estate along Ago Palace Way in Okoto recently. Samadina had gone into a compound with two of his gang members and forced a househelp to give them the keys to her boss's Venza SUV. While attempting to drive the SUV out of the estate, he was arrested while his other gang members ran away.

While testifying in court, Somadina said he was brought to Lagos in 2014 by one of his close friends, Uchechukwu with the sole aim of becoming rich by stealing cars and selling them.
“Uchechukwu told me to follow him to Lagos and hussle with him and I was convinced and I followed him,” he narrated.
Somadina said he and his other car snatching gang members had no fixed address and when they make money in their business, they would lodge in a hotel.
“I don't have fixed address. If we make money, we will go to hotel and lodge and if the money finishes, we will sleep in uncompleted buildings or public schools,” he said.
His other gang members are currently at large.

Boko Haram releases new video, reaffirms allegiance to ISIS see photos below

Boko Haram militants have released a new video in which they pledged allegiance to Islamic State and its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. An unidentified member of the group who spoke in both Arabic and heavily accented Hausa, said that Boko Haram, also known as IS West Africa Province, was still under the leadership of Abubakar Shekau, who hasn't appeared in a video since February.

The man denied recent claims by the Nigerian military that some members of the terrorist group had surrendered to the army. He also denied claims by the military that a number of women and children abducted by Boko Haram had been rescued. He said the troops had failed on the battle front and were now resorting to a media campaign to rubbish the insurgents. He ended by saying the violent campaign by the group would not be derailed.

Enyeama confirms he was thrown out of Eagles camp by security

Super Eagles goal keepers took to his Instagram page to confirm yesterday's reports that he was thrown out of the Eagles camp by security. He wrote;
"After 13years of national service, having this smiles on my face and this passion in my heart. through the billows, the waves of the ocean, the tears of defeat, the sound of rejoicing from victory chants. now the thought of being stripped naked and security agents throwing me out breaks me completely. i will take anything but not insult to my dead mother."he wrote
Enyeama buried his mum last weekend. He was reportedly thrown out of camp yesterday by security on the order of new Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, for coming late.Continue to read what he told a sports journalist about the incident.

Speaking to sports journalist, Colin Udoh, Enyeama said because he came late, (he came on Tuesday when the deadline to report to camp was Monday) Sunday Oliseh dropped him as a team captain and made Ahmed Musa the captain.
“I was surprised, so I stood up to explain my position and ask for an explanation, but the coach asked me to sit down. I insisted on speaking because I felt that with the years of dedicated service I have given to the country I deserve at least the respect of giving my own side. But he told me that either the whole team would leave the room for me, or I would have to leave the room for the whole team. There has been a lot of incidents these last few months. I don’t need it, the team does not need it, so maybe the best thing might be to step aside in the interest of the country so that the team can focus on football instead of distractions.” he said
